“Some of the nicest people I have ever met are in the tractor world.”
Bob Kessler, owner of Indian Hills Farm, Inc. dba Kessler Tractors
This is the first combine they have had. The rice has always been cut by hand and stacked to dry along the roads.
Bob met Ted Olbrich in Calif, while looking through tractor parts. They discovered that they both knew the same people in IL. Ted hired Bob to haul Case tractors to northern IL where his brother lives. These are put into a container that holds 3 full size tractors. A train hauls them to California where they are put on a ship to Cambodia. It takes a month to travel from IL to Cambodia. Upon arrival Ted’s mechanics put 4-wheel drive on them and fix anything that needs to be done. With a final coat of paint the Case tractors are sold to rice farmers. This money is used to support 25 orphanages and homes for women. It is great to be a small part of this chain of events that ends with helping so many people!
Ted is still looking for Case tractors but only the 830, 930, and 1030 models. Send an e-mail if you know of one for sale.
If you have a good tractor story please send it to us and we’ll be happy to share it with other tractor people (THERE ARE LADIES WHO LIKE THEM TOO)!
Coming Soon: Betty’s Trunk!
Welcome to my little corner of the world. Here you‘ll find antiques and other things that I once sold in my store, Betty’s Trunk. I have several pieces of horse-drawn equipment including a nice antique John Deere grain wagon. There will be pics of this and other things of interest. Let me hear from you.
